at least i know where my priorities lie
I just IM'd the following to Alisha:
i'm tired and cranky and stressed and depressed and my life sucks and i almost gave into the urge to BUY CHALLAH
Off to proof the yeast...
I can definitely relate. There have been times when I ALMOST gave into the urge not to make challah because I was too busy and tired, but then I always remember that eating store-bought challah would only make me feel worse! :) Enjoy your yummy challah...Hopefully the smell of warm challah will put a smile on your face. Shabbat shalom!
I hope you feel better! If buying challah is what you do when you're depressed, you've got a great life!
I thought that was the benefit to making challah - (without a stand mixer!) taking all your frustrations out on the dough.
I hope it helped - pounding the dough, that is.
And thanks for the recipe/rising ideas - I just baked the rest of the "too crumbly" batch erev Shabbos, and these were fine.
