at least i know where my priorities lie

I just IM'd the following to Alisha:

i'm tired and cranky and stressed and depressed and my life sucks and i almost gave into the urge to BUY CHALLAH

Off to proof the yeast...

I can definitely relate. There have been times when I ALMOST gave into the urge not to make challah because I was too busy and tired, but then I always remember that eating store-bought challah would only make me feel worse! :) Enjoy your yummy challah...Hopefully the smell of warm challah will put a smile on your face. I thought that was the benefit to making challah - (without a stand mixer!) taking all your frustrations out on the dough.

I hope it helped - pounding the dough, that is.

And thanks for the recipe/rising ideas - I just baked the rest of the "too crumbly" batch erev Shabbos, and these were fine.
