chag sameach
(A few hours late, but there's a whole week to go, so...)
Happy Chanukah!
We had a wonderful first night of Chanukah last night, involving much ruining of (other people's) children's dinners with chocolate. I hope everyone else is having a lovely holiday as well.
Chanukah sameach! Ruining other people's children's nutrient intake with chocolate is a well-established Chanukah tradition. :)
Darn, I was supposed to stick to ruining other people's children's nutritional intake with chocolate? I thought it was just part of chanukah that dessert (chocolate gelt, sufganiyot, etc) winds up the main course, and the other food is an afterthought.
I love that Chanukah is a legitimate reason to only have fried potatoes and donuts for dinner! (I always thought chocolate was the appetizer...)
Speaking of chocolate, my husband's birthday was yesterday - what good timing, to have an excuse to bake chocolate cake (OK, brownies, really) with chocolate chips and chocolate frosting.
Decorated, no less. Because he was jealous at the last (fancy!) Bar Mitzvah we went to. . . it's a good thing I have a collection of icing in a tube. Mmmm. The kids each took a piece for snack at school - nothing like Daddy's birthday cake to destroy your appetite for lunch, now is there? :-)
I'll share . . .
