fill me up
In possibly the dumbest move of my life, I decided to go leave my car with only half a tank of gas last night, rather than filling up the tank again (I had just done that on Monday). Half a tank is not quite enough gas to get me to and from work today and tomorrow, and due to the holiday weekend coming up, demand was going to be high today even without the well-publicized impending shortage...
we're thinking of driving 600 miles this weekend. we have a pretty fuel efficient mazda 3, and most of it will be freeway driving, but i'm still not looking forward to filling the tank.
my advice is to double check that your tires are properly inflated to the right PSI. that will help you get a wee bit better mileage. or so i've been told.
i have links to comparing gas prices somewhere. i'll try to locate if you (or others) are interested.
My folks picked a real winner of a weekend to go to NYC.
In possibly the dumbest move of my life,
Wow, sweetie, if this is it, then you're doing WELL!
I was down to half a tank yesterday, and Aaron made me go fill it... He asked me on Friday how much gas I had, but I didn't remember and was too busy to go find out and go fill it. I have a minivan that's a gas snob, for the record. It wants 91 or higher octane (and almost all the gas stations have 87, 89, and 93, so guess what it gets!)
I can't believe I paid $30 and only got 9 gallons. Okay, it was Shell V-Power (yes, we notice a difference... I said it was a snob!) and the Cumberland Farms (usually cheaper) gas was 20c/more a gallon, but still!
ok we're back. we put about $60 worth for about 700 miles. oh and i drove about 150 of those so we probably would've gotten better mileage if i hadn't. not too bad.
