Score another one for drug-free childbirth:*
Man faints, dies after seeing epidural
Actually, it's quite tragic. I can't imagine going through labor after that (though I hope that she continued thinking only that he'd passed out, not knowing how baadly injured he was). And what in the world do you tell your child about how his father died?
* I can't believe I even have to put in this footnote, but I'm going to anyway. *deep breath* I am not actually presenting this as a reason to avoid an epidural during labor.
OrthoDad almost fainted during my epidural with #1, and he has a medical background. That, acording to him, is one LONG needle they stick into your spine.
Though it hadn't occured to me at the time that HE should have made Birkat HaGomel! ;)
Aaron just left for that point... considering I was in active labor, he considered seeing my bare back a problem. But I never thought of it as saving his life to send him out, LOL.
(Yes he came back right after, and was present for the actual birth. I've told him many times I refuse to give birth without him... and his father told him it was "the family minhag" to be present for all the births anyway.)
