it's time to sing in hebrew
Ah, bliss! The Muppet Show theme...in Hebrew.
(Ari B., Julian may just have to kill you for showing me this.)
whatever did I do? :-)
BS"D
I love how they have the two old guys in the balcony telling jokes in this version too!
I couldn't, lulei demistafina, open the link.
But whether or not this is it, I MUST tell you this story. About fifteen years ago in yeshiva we had a guy, Zev Epstein, who was a bit of a shtickmacher and also had a pretty good voiced. And we noodged poor Zevy one Shabbos afternoon to sing a niggun and he didn't want to. But we noodged and noodged until he broke down.
And then he sang "Tzur Mi Shelo Achalnu" to the tune of the muppet show! That brought the house down.
Fast forward to earlier this year. I'm zigging through the internet looking to download a version of "Yerushalayim Shel Zahav" because I'm jonesing for the song. So I'm googling all over. Finally, I hit a site--a Harvard Hillel glee club of some sort and they've got it. Then I notice "Tzur Mi Shelo." Nah, I thought. Can't be.
So I hit play. AND IT WAS. Sung to the Muppet Show theme in a cappella!
AND THEY STOLE IT FROM ZEVY. SUE, ZEVY SUE!!!
ClooJew - Alas, it is not Tzur Mishelo. It is a translation of the Muppet Show theme (and it's quite funny at that)!
Soferet - Their names are Statler and Waldorf. Just so you know. :)
