sell out
Ari B. alerted me to this recent sell out on the part of an important childhood idol: Cookie Monster is betraying his roots and *gasp* supplementing his diet with healthier foods.

On a related note, I just noticed that Shmuel got to meet Susan, Maria, and Gordon (not their real names) very recently, and he has the pictures to prove it.
One the one hand, it's good to teach moderation to children. On the other hand, Cookie Monster is the epitome of non-moderation -- that's what makes him funny! Not only does he eat all the cookies on the plate in one mouthful...he eats the plate in the next mouthful! I think it would be better if the other characters and the real kids on the show were eating healthier foods and acknowledging that only Cookie Monster can eat only cookies.
I agree. Cookie Monster's antics have always made Benni laugh (ok, and his mommy too). but it doesn't sound like they're making too much of a change with him, so that's ok with me. I just wish Benni watched more Sesame Street these days and less Thomas and Bob the Builder. Sesame Street is really a quality kids show, and they clearly care about their educational content. So I give them a lot of credit for that.
The actress that plays Maria was on an episode of Law and Order last season.
